Aug. 20--GASOLINE PRICES HIT RECORD IN STATE, CITY: Gasoline prices hit records for both Nevada and Las Vegas, rising from the day before, AAA reports.
In its Daily Fuel Gauge report, AAA said the statewide average for a gallon of regular, unleaded gasoline hit $2.685 Friday, up from $2.680 Thursday. A month ago, the statewide average gasoline price was $2.516; a year ago, it was $2.012, AAA reported.
In Las Vegas, gasoline prices averaged $2.649 Friday, up from $2.637 a day earlier and $2.483 a month ago, AAA said. A year earlier, Las Vegas gasoline averaged $1.977.
The record prices came as the price of crude oil rose $2.08 to close at $65.35 ...
