SALES TAX YIELDS HIGHER RETURNS MAIN FUND SOURCE RISES 2.6 PERCENT.(News)

SANTA CLARITA - Sales tax revenue generated in Santa Clarita - the city's key source of funding - increased 2.6 percent in the first quarter over the same period last year.

During the first three months of the year, Santa Clarita realized $6.03 million in sales tax, compared with $5.88 million in 2004. The quarter is generally viewed as the slowest of the year.
