This study is the first comprehensive history of the medieval kingdom of Hungary to appear in English. It was written with the aim of providing a non-Hungarian readership with an accurate presentation of the subject. However, that it is an asset also for the Hungarian scholarly public is clearly evinced by the fact that it was recently published as well in Hungarian by the Historical Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, which more than guarantees its scholarly quality.
