Suburban, St. Paul and Ramsey County officials are getting their signals crossed over plans to consolidate their individual emergency dispatch centers into one, prompting St. Paul officials on Tuesday to drop out of the joint effort.
Suburban officials complain that the plan to spread the cost across the county is unfair because St. Paul generates more 911 calls.
Ramsey County commissioners, in an effort to appease their suburban constituents, agreed Tuesday to reconsider how to finance the single system - inviting suburban and St. Paul officials to come up with a plan over the next two weeks that everyone could agree on. But ...
