Britain's performance in international financial markets.

The performance of UK's financial institutions in international financial markets are studied and compared to those of other countries'. Results show that the US is the leading force in all of the markets studied, with UK trailing the superpower on second place. While the US controls two-thirds of the international market and UK for only about one-fifth, no other country had shares exceeding even one-tenth of the markets. It is expected that UK's financial institutions will be further boosted by the imminent liberalization of the EC market.
