Winser's grand designs for the Pringle empire; the CITY interview.

KIM Winser is planning a party. Pringle, the company she runs, celebrates its 190th birthday next month, making it one of Britain's most enduring clothing brands. It will be a double celebration. Pringle recently appointed Clare Waight Keller as its creative director, ending a period of turmoil at the Scottish knitwear company.

Keller, whose design pedigree includes Calvin Klein and Gucci, is the replacement for Stuart Stockdale, who quit suddenly in May.

As head of design since 2001, Stockdale helped Winser transform Pringle from a dowdy golfing brand into a label with catwalk credibility.
