Aug. 25--Supporters of the Bond Community Health Center are speaking out against a Leon County health-care committee's vote to spend $1 million in property-tax proceeds on a Tallahassee Community College health-education center.
The money came from a county property tax that helps pay for medical care for people without insurance at the Bond clinic on West Orange Avenue and Neighborhood Health Services in Frenchtown. However, the committee earlier this month voted to spend it on the TCC education center, which also would house a health clinic for people without insurance.
