RAKING through smelly piles of old paperbacks and cast- off clothing may not be everyone's idea of fun.

A report has revealed Britons spend pounds 1.46billion every year at thousands of events held across the country.
It is estimated that two-thirds of the population have been to a car-boot sale at least once in their life, with an average spend of pounds 10 per person per visit.
