Computers are new tools of choice among thieves.

Aug. 25--Times are changing and crimes are getting more complex.

Instead of guns and crowbars, the tools used in new types of crimes include the Internet and eBay.

At a fraud seminar Wednesday night, Detective Leslie Kitching of the Leon County Sheriff's Office Financial Crimes Unit, offered this example:

A local man sold a golf club for more than $200 on eBay. He used PayPal, got confirmation and shipped the golf club. He was alerted later that the buyer withdrew his credit-card payment and said he did not receive what he bought. The seller didn't get his money.
