YOUNGSTERS at an arson-hit school today paid tribute to their teachers for helping them achieve excellent GCSE results.
Much of Avon Valley School, in Newbold, Rugby, burned down last year but many pupils still achieved the results they needed to get into sixth- form or college.
Tom Phillips, aged 16, of Cawston, got an A*, three As, five Bs, two Cs and a D, to earn a place at the town's Lawrence Sheriff School, in Clifton Road.
