When it comes to the Putnam Investors Fund (PINVX), cash flow is king.
The $4.1 billion fund, co-managed by Richard Cervone and James Weiss at Putnam Investments LLC in Boston, is designed to boil down equity investing to its most fundamental state.
"We value businesses based on future long-term cash flows,'' said Mr. Cervone. "It's a very simple strategy, but the success and failure depend on execution.''
