Aug. 27--SEATTLE -- Center fielder Aaron Rowand has played through assorted aches and pains to play in 119 of the White Sox's first 124 games this season.
But some bad luck in Minnesota caused Rowand to be scratched from Friday night's starting lineup at Seattle.
"Brutal," Rowand said while sporting a cast-sized ice wrap on his left elbow.
Rowand was struck on the left elbow by a pitch from Minnesota's Joe Mays in the fourth inning of Wednesday's 6-4 victory but played all nine innings.
In Thursday's 2-1 victory, Rowand was struck in exactly the same spot by Minnesota control maven Carlos Silva.
