Fabricom Airport Systems (FAS) has won a contract to build and install a 'common use' Hold Baggage System valued at CAN $28 million (US$23m) for Montreal's Pierre Elliott Trudeau airport. Installed in two major phases, completion is expected by December. Other companies and organisations involved in the project include the airport's design consultants, Pellemon, part of SNC Lavalin, which designed the systems' layout, and the Canadian Air Transport Security Administration (CATSA), which is responsible for overseeing the deployment of hold baggage Explosive Detection Screening (EDS) across Canada.
