Approach updates.(ATM)(Instrument landing systems)

Canada's air navigation services provider is steadily working clown its list of 41 Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) that are scheduled for replacement. In most cases, the affected runway ends will get new Normarc 7000 and 7000B systems--assembled by Park Air Systems in Oslo, Norway--which meet Category (CAT) II International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards, but will operate at CAT I.

One airport, however, John C Munro Hamilton International, will upgrade to CAT II capability. This will lower the decision height (DH) from the current 200ft to 100ft, increase access by 1% and save airlines approximately C$750,000 per year, against its $1.5 million acquisition ...
