In one of the opening scenes of HBO's "Rome," a slave stands by and fans a couple while they have sex. We'll let the historians tell us if that is an accurate portrayal, but it sure gets your attention as viewers are immediately thrust into the decadence and turmoil of ancient Rome.
Yes, we are off and running on what looks like another juicy, lavish and lusty HBO series. In this case, "It's not TV, It's Rome." The 12-episode series premieres 9 p.m. Sunday.
