Your Country Profile on Venezuela (NI 379) was biased and inaccurate. In the rating for Freedom (just two stars) you failed to mention that Venezuela now has the most democratic constitution in the Americas, with the facility for recall of representatives, including the President, by petition and referendum.
You state that 'new laws have curtailed press freedom and the press in general has been muzzled'. The Law on the Responsibility of Radio and Television was passed by the National Assembly in November 2004. It does not allow for the silencing of dissent, but introduces the same type of regulation of content that exists in most countries. It ...
