ATLANTA -- Pediatricians and family physicians would be more favorable toward giving children a second dose of varicella vaccine if a measles-mumps-rubella-varicella vaccine were available, Mona Matin, M.D., reported to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at its summer meeting.
The finding, among the preliminary results of an ongoing CDC and University of Michigan survey of 1,100 physicians, was among several reasons that ACIP decided to table a vote to recommend a second dose of varicella vaccine until the Food and Drug Administration licenses the Merck & Co. quadrivalent ...
