Plumbing supplies sales estimated to reach $25 billion in 2005.(Home Improvement Research Institute of Tampa's openion)

The Home Improvement Research Institute of Tampa said Jun. 20 total home improvement product sales reached $271 billion during 2004, the highest on record since it began tracking this data in 1984. The Institute said spending on home improvement products increased 12.6 percent from 2003 levels, while total plumbing supplies sales to consumers were $23.5 billion--up about 16 percent--over the same period. HIRI forecasts about $25 billion in total plumbing supplies sales for 2005.
