Letter to Congress urges fast action regarding next-generation broadband
The Fiber-to-the-Home Council (FTTH) North America announced that it has urged the United States Congress to address two major barriers to next-generation broadband networks--the lack of a streamlined cable television franchising process and restrictions on municipal broadband.
In a letter to the United States Congress, the Fiber-to-the Home Council calls for a "converged services approach" to encouraging next-generation deployments, in which networks capable of providing information services competitive in the 21st Century would receive relief from current franchising requirements ...
