ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Aug. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Progress Energy Florida expects to send 400 employees and contractors to the Gulf Coast this week to help central Louisiana-based utility Cleco Power restore electric service in areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

As part of Progress Energy's mutual-aid agreement with the Southeastern Electric Exchange, 200 line and tree workers will travel to Louisiana early this week. Later in the week, another 200 employees and contractors will travel to the Gulf Coast, after helping restore power in South Florida.
