Aug. 28--BERTHOUD -- A lot of sweet pickles, dill pickles and pickle relish are being grown in fields along the Weld-Larimer county line.

The Northern Colorado Pickle Cooperative, now in its second year of operation, has grown from an initial 320 acres of pickling cucumbers to more than 750 acres and the company contracting with the cooperative, Bay Valley Foods of Green Bay, Wis., is looking to expand that acreage, said Mario Herrera, the founder and force behind the cooperative.
