An estimated 3 to 4 million archers will hunt big game in the United States this fall, and a rapidly growing number of them will be carrying bows made in Oregon.

In an impressive archery industry success story, Eugene-based BowTech has come from nowhere to rank among the world's leading bow manufacturers.

"We're probably the third-largest bow company in the world right now," said BowTech creative director Gene Shands, who's been with the company since its beginning in 1999.
