PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The Bahrain International Airport currently has 1 runway and contractor prequalification recently started up in order to begin building another runway some time later in 2005. According to Ghazi Al Saleh, Acting Director of The MINISTRY OF WORKS & HOUSING, a budget of a little over $28,000,000 has been allocated for the upgrade project.

The work in question is expected to be undertaken in close co-ordination with the local CIVIL AVIATION AFFAIRS (CAA) and airlines operating through the airport.
