LONDON -- One of the factors that have contributed to the impressive success of Tesco PLC in recent years is the company's adept and aggressive use of technology. The Tesco Clubcard, which was launched a decade ago, is a good example. The Clubcard was the first major retail loyalty program in the United Kingdom, and it is acknowledged to be the most successful, with approximately 11 million card-holding households in the U.K., according to a company spokeswoman.
