Article: Progress Energy Florida Reaches Agreement on Rate Case.

Base rates would be maintained at current levels

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Aug. 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Progress Energy Florida, the Florida Attorney General's Office, the Office of Public Counsel and other intervening parties representing the majority of customers served by the company have reached an agreement that would maintain customer base rates at their current levels (comparable to rates set in 1983) through late 2007.

The agreement is subject to approval by the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC). If approved, it will take effect Jan. 1, 2006.
