Aug. 29--LATIN SLOWDOWN STIFLES S. FLORIDA TRADE GROWTH: South Florida posted 12 percent growth in goods trade for the first half of this year, but that's not fast enough to move up the U.S. trade rankings.
The Miami Customs district, which runs from Key West to Fort Pierce, ranked No. 13 in trade in the country for the half, falling from the No. 11 spot two years ago.
South Florida's trade gains trailed the U.S. average and also lagged behind some customs districts with more trade, including Houston, Seattle, Savannah, Ga., and Cleveland, according to U.S. Commerce data provided by Coral Gables-based media company ...
