Aug. 31--Saline County property owners soon will have the option of paying their property taxes by the month.
At a meeting Tuesday, county commissioners voted to allow County Treasurer Brenda Siemsen to spend $8,657 on computer software that accommodates monthly payments of taxes. Yearly software maintenance fees of $1,662 will be paid through fees charged those who opt for monthly payments.
Craig Stephenson, commission chairman, described the program as "a great idea."
