European Agriculture Commissioner Mariann Fischer Boel has stressed the need for inter-country collaboration if there is to be successful progress in agriculture in the World Trade Organisation's Doha Development Round (DDA).
Speaking at the Quint meeting in Australia last weekend, the Commissioner said the EU had already made concessions through reforms of its Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). But she added that other parties must now also make an effort if they are to avoid a repeat of the stalemate reached in the WTO talks in Cancun 2002.
"All parties now have to be prepared to move," she said, referring to the need for progress ahead of the WTO Ministerial in Hong ...
