A mental health services firm has crafted a new tracking system that company officials say will enable employers to justify and control their overall costs of mental health benefits, which for many companies have been growing dramatically in recent years.
The system, called COMPASS, helps administrators of mental health benefits bridge their operations with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and other out-patient care providers.
Integra Inc., a Radnor, Pa. administrator of mental health benefits, developed the system in concert with Dr. Kenneth Howard, a Northwestern University psychotherapy professor.
