Aug. 31--As prices for everything from houses to gasoline soar in Palm Beach County, income dropped more than many places in the country, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
The median household income for Palm Beach County declined from about $47,200 in 2003 to about $43,500 in 2004, according to census figures released Tuesday.
Local economic experts blame an increase in low-paying, service industry jobs for Palm Beach County's decline.
