KANSAS CITY, Mo., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The Director of Emergency Disaster Services for The Salvation Army Kansas and Western Missouri Division is being deployed to assist with relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Dee Shukert-Smith will depart Tuesday morning from Kansas City on a 12 day mission to join The Salvation Army's Command Staff along the Gulf Coast. She will help coordinate planning efforts.
