Several weeks ago I wrote about Nelly Emrich, the woman who built our two-story brick house in 1913.
We were told she'd lived in Russia with her husband, who was assassinated there, and that after his murder she returned to Denver with their two babies and built a home in Park Hill next door to her sister.
I told you about a tiny doorway we found in the master bedroom, rumored to be Nelly's escape should gunmen ever again threaten her family.
OK. The tale sounded a bit embellished.
But I'm here today to tell you that while I got some details wrong, the bulk of the story is true.
