The following are ways for people to make contributions to the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts:
Adventist Community Services. Call (800) 381-7171
American Music Festival. Today through Monday at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Cash for Katrina collection sites staffed by the American Red Cross will be at the stages at Fifth, 17th, 24th and 31st streets.
American Red Cross. Financial donations only. Call (800) 435-7669, visit www.redcross.org or send checks to the American Red Cross, PO Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013. Lowe's will match contributions to the American Red Cross up to $1 million at Red Cross' Web site.
