A U.S. District Court jury in Madison has found that Stratagene Corp. is guilty of infringing patents that protect the technology developed by Third Wave Technologies of Madison. Third Wave makes products that screen patients for a variety of diseases. The jury will hear arguments now on a possible damage award to Third Wave. Stratagene, of La Jolla, Calif., said the two patents involved in the lawsuit represent only 0.4 percent of Stratagene's revenue in the current fiscal year.
