Remember the Tamagotchi?
They were all the rage back in the late 20th century. The electronic equivalent of a pet rock, it was a rudimentary virtual pet that you carried around with you, making sure that it was fed, amusing it, and cleaning up its digital doo. It was incredibly popular, even though the counterfeit critter more resembled a piece of lint than any actual animal.
Still, I had one, we bonded, and it was fun for a brief moment of time.
Now, the folks at Nintendo have taken the basic concept of the Tamagotchi and have brought it into the 21st century, with more bells and whistles ...
