Talk about a makeover! Within a year, pork rinds were transformed from the rural, blue-collar, perceived-unhealthy pork product to the trendy, urban, hip, good-for-you snack that it became in 2004. The "Fab Four" from TV's "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" couldn't have done a better job improving this snack's image.
Sure, when your typical, fit-and-trim supermodels start eating pork rinds, as was reported at the height of the low-carb diet craze, the celebrity watchers and health junkies take notice and often follow suit.
