Perhaps we'll eventually reach the stage where any act with a recorded body of work will get the box set treatment, whether they deserve it or not. Be glad, then, that for now it's a bit more limited, and that some sets contain plenty of background work. This one is a beauty, with plenty of otherwise unreleased material, including a 1972 version of "Four Loom Weaver" that's simply glorious (with a couple of other tracks also from the early '70s), a promise of the talent to come. And it's remarkably easy to sit through four CDs of Tabor. Whether or not she really is the best singer of English music, as some contend, ...
