Lowry, 24, who divides her time between Renton and Seattle, was browsing the online classified Web site when she spotted a "Riders Wanted" ad.
That's when the self-proclaimed "city girl from Atlanta," embarked on a horse-loving adventure that has landed her solidly on her duff more times than she likes to admit.
The ad was for the Cowgirl Spirit Rescue Drill Team, a group of volunteers who rescue horses headed for the slaughterhouse. The Humane Society estimates that nearly 100,000 horses are slaughtered each year in the U.S. ...
