CAMP HILL, Pa. -- Rite Aid (NYSE, PCX:RAD) announced today its' continued support of relief efforts in areas affected by Hurricane Katrina. As of Wednesday morning, 34 Rite Aid stores were closed due to the hurricane, the majority in the greater New Orleans area.
Rite Aid has sent three mobile pharmacy units to affected areas in need of prescription and pharmacy services and is prepared to dispatch five additional mobile units as needed. Sites include Mobile, AL, D'iberville, MS, and Waveland, MS. The mobile pharmacy will be fully stocked with prescriptions and staffed by Rite Aid pharmacists.
