The US Agency for international Development (USAID) has granted $10 million to support the government's privatisation programme. The agency is also financing a contract awarded to the Washington office of accountants Price Waterhouse for studies to prepare the part-privatisation of Tunis Air, scheduled for late 1992.
The Tunis Air privatisation is planned to involve 10-20 per cent of the carrier's capital, although the amount to be sold-off - through a public offering registered on the Tunis bourse - may change, Tunis observers say. Price Waterhouse began its privatisation study in August, with completion due by October.
