This Festschrift was prepared to honor the Belgian Jesuit, Jacques Dupuis, on his 80th birthday in October 2003. He outlived its publication by only a little over a year, dying in Rome, December 28, 2004. This is not quite the everyday Festschrift, however. It does contain the usual collection of academic essays prompted, more or less, by the work of the man it honors, but it also contains no less than four personal tributes to the man, his life, and his work.
