on August 22: GAZPROM DENIES REPORTS ON SIBNEFT PURCHASE
Gazprom has denied information it has reached a principal agreement to acquire Sibneft Oil Company.
Information that Sibneft shareholders and Gazprom have agreed on the purchase of the oil company is "an assumption, which has nothing to do with the real state of affairs," a Gazprom official told Interfax. He refused to elaborate.
Sibneft offered no comments on its negotiations with Gazprom.
