CORVALLIS - With one State on the field and another State in mind, the Beavers anointed their renovated Reser Stadium in their football season opener just about as everyone expected.
They battered Portland State into submission 41-14 on a warm Saturday in front of a record crowd of 42,263 and now wait for the arrival next weekend of Boise State, which bludgeoned Oregon State 53-34 a year ago.
"I think we've got a little rivalry going with Boise," said Sabby Piscitelli, a junior and the only veteran in OSU's secondary.
