STMicroelectronics announces SPI serial flash compatible with the leading chipset family.

STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), a leader in Serial Flash, has introduced the new 8-Mbit M25PE80Serial Flash memory for increased network management capabilities. The Serial Flash also provides designers of chipset-based systems that use the Intel 945 Express with a BIOS solution that supports advanced capabilities and increased functionality in laptops, desktop PCs, as well as servers.

ST's new Serial Flash IC supports the Intel 82573E PCI Express* Gigabit Ethernet Controller, featuring Active Management Technology, and the Intel 945Express chipset family with the 82801GB and 82801GR I/O Controller Hub.
