Gilded Age, a denim line launching for holiday, seeks to emulate craftsmanship used almost 100 years ago.
The idea is to produce denim bottoms using natural indigo and nondenim tops in wools and cotton by hand. Quantities will be limited and merchandise will feature details that machines can't replicate.
"The ultimate luxury is having something that has been made by hand," said Stefan Miljanic, co-owner and creative director of the line. "We want to go back to those days and use those techniques and work from scratch. I want people to look at Gilded Age and think, `This is how it must have been done."'
