Green Bay, Wis. -- Jim Bates is hands-on in a let-me-show-you-EXACTLY-how-it's-done sort of way.
He speaks loudly, clearly and quickly, moving around the practice field like a teacher who has taught the same subject for 37 years.
In some respects, Bates has. The 59-year-old Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator has coached football nearly every fall since 1968, when he was a graduate assistant at the University of Tennessee.
