Sep. 8--Fort Bragg sent another wave of soldiers to New Orleans on Wednesday, boosting the total number of Bragg troops supporting hurricane relief efforts to more than 3,700.
Two hundred soldiers in 83 vehicles left Wednesday morning on an 852-mile road trip to New Orleans.
Capt. Jason Hanifin, of the 82nd Airborne Division's 407th Forward Support Battalion, said the trip would take two or three days, with planned stops for fuel and sleep.
Hanifin was the officer in charge at Pike Field, where the soldiers staged before their convoys of Humvees and large trucks rolled out.
