LOS ANGELES -- A.T. Cross Co. is negotiating to sell its Mark Cross leather goods division and, according to reports, the buyer is Coach Leatherware, a division of Sara Lee Corp.
Mike El-Hillow, vice-president finance for A.T. Cross, acknowledged that negotiations are under way but would not comment on the Coach report.
Executives at Coach could not be reached for comment.
A.T. Cross, a pen company, purchased Mark Cross, which operates 23 retail stores and has a wholesale business, in 1983.
