It isn't over if the great, wild river sings again!
They say the population of Jackson County seat Pascagoula, normally around 27,000 people, "doubles every weekday" as employees come from miles around to work. Northrop Grumman Ship Systems, the state's largest private employer, is here; its Ingalls Operations have been in business continuously since 1938. Pascagoula has the 16th largest port in the United States and calls itself the "Flagship City."
But the times they are a-changin', as the grand old city begins moving smartly in some new directions to complement the old.
