Some have called them hairdryers. Others have called them whoosh machines. But, whatever you call them, don't be surprised if there is a turbine in your boating future.
While piston power still reigns in smaller boats, turbines are fast moving in on hulls of 40 feet and larger, and especially in megayachts like John Staluppi"s 119-foot Moonraker, which recently became the fastest megayacht in history by averaging 75-plus mph.
